Hey there! It looks like you’re under 18 and happy to climb independently.
OUR STATEMENT FOR YOUNG INDEPENDENT CLIMBERS
A young climber describes a climber under 18 years of age regardless of experience. Climbing independently means climbing without any tuition from our instructors, but you may still need supervision!
Requirements for young independent climbers
-
Climbers must be registered at Rockstar
We require all climbers visiting us for the first time to register with Rockstar Climbing by completing our Participation Agreement.
This can be done online and only takes five minutes. We recommend doing this ahead of your visit to ensure a quick check-in.
If you are 16 years old or over, then you can complete our Participation Agreement yourself. If you’re under 16 please ask your parent or guardian to complete this online.
-
Climbing in our High Walls Arena (Ropes)
Young climbers who are not climbing under the supervision of our qualified instructors can only climb in our High Walls Arena if directly supervised by an experienced over 18 rope climber.
Experienced climbers can sign-in a maximum of two novice climbers as guests under their supervision and they, themselves, must be registered with Rockstar Climbing and be proficient with rope climbing skills.
Please call us in advance of your visit if you are unsure.
-
Climbing in our bouldering arena
Novice climbers aged 16 or above can climb independently in our Bouldering Arena without supervision.
If you are under 16 then you must be directly supervised at all times by an over 18. Your supervising adult can climb too, or just supervise.
Bouldering is a great option if you are climbing for the first time.
Don’t forget to register with us
All young climbers must be registered with Rockstar Climbing before being permitted to climb. Registration only takes 5 minutes and can be done online by completing our Participation Agreement - it only has to be done once on your first visit!
